Every day here is a new adventure in learning! Located along the New Hampshire coast within Odiorne Point State Park, we provide a range of engaging daily visitor programs that are included with your admission. Immerse yourself in the wonders of our coastline through interactive exhibits and live animal presentations, or delve into the rich history and ecology of our unique coastal environment with guided walks and hands-on activities. Whether you’re a curious child or an inquisitive adult, our programs are crafted to ignite your imagination and nurture a lifelong passion for science, nature, and the ocean. Join us for a day of exploration, and let the Center and our seaside park on the New Hampshire coastline be your classroom!
Daily Visitor Programming
During your visit to the Seacoast Science Center, be sure to join our team of Naturalists for our daily visitor programs! These activities may include outdoor adventures, meet-and-greets with our animals, feeding sessions, or community science experiments.
Program Schedule*: Most days, programs are offered at 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m., with a feeding time at 1:00 p.m.

*Please note that all programs and times are subject to change, and additional programs may be added daily. When you arrive at the Center, check the whiteboard at the entrance for the day’s scheduled programs.

Turtle Time
Spend time with our resident three-toed box turtle and discover why he’s named Raspberry! Plus, learn about other turtle species found on land and in the ocean, and conservation efforts to protect these incredible creatures!
All About Whales
Join our Naturalists to learn about the largest animals on the planet. We’ll explore their survival strategies, diets, winter migrations, and more! Don’t miss the chance to see and learn about our resident humpback whale skeleton, Tofu.
Nature Scavenger Hunt
Nature Scavenger HuntReady for an adventure? Head outside with our naturalist to find fascinating plants, wildlife, and historical remnants around Odiorne Point State Park. Can you locate everything on your list?
Iconic Crustacean
Iconic CrustaceanAttend a meet and greet with the Gulf of Maine’s most famous crustaceans: the American lobster! We will talk about their adaptations and anatomy, including genetic variations that lead to unique shell colors. You will also get the chance to feel their exoskeleton!
Wrackline Walk
Wrackline WalkStep outside to uncover what the tides have left behind. We’ll stroll along the wrackline—the area where ocean meets shore—to observe seaweeds, shells, driftwood, and more. By exploring the highest point of the tide, we can learn about what is living on the rocky shore and our oceans health.
Feeding Times
Feeding TimesIt’s lunchtime at SSC! Join our naturalists, aquarists, and animals to learn more about our residents and the care we provide them at the Center. You may encounter our Atlantic lumpfish, lined seahorse, honeycomb moray eel, chain catsharks, and other resident species as they enjoy lunch.
