Yesterday afternoon, we responded to this female weanling harbor seal at Salisbury Reservation. She had reportedly been there since late at night the previous day. She has many small wounds on her body, a couple of slightly larger wounds, and is in thin nutritional condition. We made the decision to pick her up and transport her to our friends at National Marine Life Center in Buzzards Bay, MA

Once arriving at rehab, she was placed into a holding room for her admit exam.

After her admit exam, she was hosed down to cool her off and to start cleaning out the wounds.

September 4 Update: We heard from our friends at NMLC the seal is more alert and showing minor signs of improvement. She is showing that she is a fighter. She still has a very long and unsure road ahead, but any improvement is a positive thing!
