Protecting Wildlife and Serving Local Communities

A Giving Tuesday live-stream recap of 2022 from our Marine Mammal Rescue team.

This Giving Tuesday, we want to thank YOU for supporting our Marine Mammal Rescue Program. Thank you to everyone who has acted as our eyes on the shore, shared our mission with friends and family, and donated time and money.

With your help, our rescue team at Seacoast Science Center made a big splash, responding to 101 seals, whales, dolphins, and porpoises so far this year! Through our wildlife conservation work, we are increasing our understanding of marine mammal biology and ecology, and contributing to research at the regional and national level.

We hope you can join MMR team members Ashley Stokes and Brian Yurasits on Tuesday, November 29th for a LIVE UPDATE on this year’s most notable responses, and a celebration of marine conservation in action.

This Giving Tuesday, our goal is to raise $15,000 to advance marine mammal science and conservation, and provide valuable services to our local community. As first responders, our MMR team lessens the burden of animal response on police, firefighters, and lifeguards. Our team also provides learning opportunities for beachgoers, school children, local businesses, and more. With your help, we can continue to inspire people to connect with the natural world, and lessen their impact on marine wildlife.

To watch the webinar, join us here here on Tuesday, November 29th at 6pm, or join us on SSC Marine Mammal Rescue Facebook or SSC YouTube to ask questions and provide feedback during the live-stream.

Please note that it’s illegal to approach marine mammals without proper permitting. All photos and videos in this presentation were taken under our NOAA permit.
