Wildlife Kayak Tours

Join SSC naturalists for a fun and informative wildlife paddles, and explore Little Harbor and Hampton Falls and its estuarine waters.

About our Wildlife Kayak Tours

Your adventure starts with an introduction to responsible and safe wildlife viewing and a kayaking orientation. Once everyone is geared up with their PFD and paddle, you’ll hit the water with our experts to enjoy a scenic route filled with wildlife, history, and beautiful coastal views. Seacoast Science Center naturalists will point out the abundance of life below and above the water–from shorebirds to seals, fish, crustaceans, and seaweeds. You’ll also learn how to help protect local ecosystems and wildlife by observing from a distance and leaving no trace.

Please note, you will see a breakdown of fees in your confirmation, which includes both the program fee and the required Odiorne Point State Park Boat Launch parking fee or parking in Hampton Falls .

Fee includes kayak, paddle, and PFD. See logistics section below for a list of things to wear and bring.

Odiorne Point State Park Routes

We offer two kayaking routes launching from the Odiorne Point State Park boat ramp: Berrys’ Brook and Frost Point (orange line on map below) is best for beginner-intermediate paddlers. The Little Harbor to Leachs Island route (green line) is for intermediate paddlers, and is for adults only .

New for 2024: Hampton Falls Estuary Route

Please note the Hampton Falls Estuary Route is SOLD OUT for the season.

We’ve partnered with the Seabrook-Hamptons Estuary Alliance (SHEA) to offer a new kayaking route, launching from Hampton Falls, NH! This new route begins at the Depot Road boat launch in Hampton Falls, NH, and explores the vast intertidal salt marshes of the Seabrook-Hamptons estuary. We’ll look for wildlife both above and below the surface, including ospreys and more, while learning about local ecology, natural history, and conservation from the experts at SHEA.

SHEA is funded, in part, by NOAA’s Office for Coastal Management under the Coastal Zone Management Act in conjunction with the NH Department of Environmental Services Coastal Program.

Thanks to generous support SHEA received from Kennebunk Savings Bank, we are able to offer the Hampton Falls Estuary paddles at the reduced member rate of $42 to all.
