About our Wildlife Kayak Tours of Little Harbor and its Estuarine Waters

Your adventure starts with an introduction to responsible and safe wildlife viewing and a kayaking orientation. Once everyone is geared up with their PFD and paddle, you’ll hit the water with our experts to enjoy a scenic route filled with wildlife, history, and beautiful coastal views. Seacoast Science Center naturalists will point out the abundance of life below and above the water–from shorebirds to seals, fish, crustaceans, and seaweeds. You’ll also learn how to help protect local ecosystems and wildlife by observing from a distance and leaving no trace.

Logistics

  • Participants will meet at the Odiorne Point State Park Boat Launch parking lot, north of the park’s main entrance. Please arrive 15 minutes early so we can prepare and take full advantage of our on-water time! Show your receipt to the park gate attendant for free parking.
  • Please bring a drink and snack for a mid-paddle break.
  • Wear water shoes and clothes that can get wet, and remember, it is always cooler at the shore! Sunglasses and a hat are always a great idea too!
  • Please apply sunscreen and bug spray before joining the group.
  • Please note: while we provide a brief tutorial on paddling and safety, these programs are not considered kayak lessons.
  • All participants must read and sign a Participation Agreement, Release, and Assumption of Risk. Please read the document in advance. You may bring a signed copy with you or complete the form on-site.
