We will:

  • View polar bears as they flock to Churchill, a small coastal town located on the coast of the historic Hudson Bay
  • Travel in Frontiers North’s Tundra Buggies®, the best and safest way to view polar bears in their natural
environment, with the most access to the Churchill Wildlife Management Area

  • Experience the wide-open landscapes, incredible wildlife, and warm-hearted people of the north
  • Tour local and historical points of interest surrounding Churchill, including Cape Merry, Port of Churchill
and Manitoba Conservation’s Polar Bear Holding Facility
  • Enjoy an exhilarating Dogsledding excursion with Wapusk Adventures and join the musher’s for hot chocolate and freshly made bannock after your ride
  • Enjoy evening presentations by Polar Bears International’s top researchers and scientists
  • View the dancing northern lights from a roof-top observation deck (if conditions allow)

and more!

Polar bears depend on the sea ice environment for traveling, hunting, mating, and resting. With global warming most pronounced in the Arctic, it has been projected that we could have nearly ice-free summers in the Arctic by mid-century.  Find out how the polar bear population is being monitored, how they are responding to the declining ice, what communities are doing about the increased human-polar bear conflict as they spend more time on land, and how you can help.
