Treks 4 Tots Camp is a fun-filled learning adventure that takes advantage of the natural classroom just outside our doors in historic, 135-acre Odiorne Point State Park. The Center’s hands-on exhibits help to reinforce what campers learn outdoors. Lessons, activities, art projects, games, and stories combine for a full day of learning, excitement, and fun!
Monday, April 15 and 22: Explore the Shore
Let’s head out to the rocky coast at low tide to see what we can find. Are there creatures hiding under the rocks? Let’s look! Treasures washed ashore by the sea? Maybe!
Tuesday, April 16 and 23: Salt Marsh Sightings
The salt marsh is one of many special habitats in Odiorne Point State Park. We’ll trek out to this flooded grassland to learn what types of animals live in, or visit, the salt marsh, and learn why it is important to protect this valuable habitat for people and wildlife alike.
Wednesday, April 17 and 24: Forest Findings
The spring woods are awakening! Let’s venture out into the Park trails and between the trees to look for signs of wildlife, identify trees, and learn some bird songs. We’ll also play fun games, including Camouflage and Squirrel Tag.
Thursday, April 18 and 25: Ocean Odyssey
Our One World Ocean is alive with more than a million different plants and animals, from the giant blue whale to microscopic plankton. Through fun games and activities, we’ll discover why it is important to learn as much about the ocean as we can and learn ways we can better protect it.
Friday, April 19 and 26: What’s the Weather?
Spring has sprung and that means its mud season! Let’s head outdoors to explore the signs of spring and our changing weather. We’ll take measurements of temperature and humidity, uncover facts about wind and rain, and hopefully enjoy some sun! What kind of cloud is that? Come find out!
