About Treks
Whether your little trekker is ready for adventure or is a bit shy, our Treks program eases kids 4-5 years old into our nature-focused camp setting. Children gain confidence through play-based activities and guided exploration that follows their curiosity. Campers develop a new understanding and appreciation of the natural world around them by exploring Odiorne Point State Park and all the Center has to offer.
Daily Themes
Monday, April 17 and 24 Rocky Shore Ramblin'
Explore the shoreline and tide pools with us as life reawakens for the season. We’ll look for crabs, urchins, sea stars, and more and learn about the amazing adaptations these animals have for survival in the ever changing intertidal zone.
Tuesday, April 18 and 25Spring Woods and Vernal Ponds
Let’s set out on the trails of Odiorne Point State Park to look for signs of spring and animal activity. We’ll visit the pond and vernal pools, learn about our resident reptiles and amphibians (such as turtles and frogs), and discover what birds are migrating back to the area.
Wednesday, April 19 and 26 Seahorse Science
Come learn all about seahorses, a very unique fish! We’ll observe our exhibit seahorses as they eat their daily meal. Outside, we’ll go on a scavenger hunt that will uncover fun facts about seahorses. We will also make a seahorse craft to take home.
Thursday, April 20 and 27Earth Week Eco-Art
Join us as we create colorful works of art using trash we collect from a beach clean-up and shoreline saunter. Learn ways we can protect the health of our blue planet now and in the future.
Friday, April 21 and 28 Stingers of the Sea
Many ocean animals, including sea jellies, anemones, and stingrays, have venom to help them capture their prey. Learn more about this special adaptation and see some of these creatures up close in our live animal tanks. Outside, we’ll play some fun ‘Stingers of the Sea’ games.

What to Bring & Other Important Information
Children should always come prepared with layers of warm outdoor clothing and boots. Please label all of your child’s belongings. We go outdoors, rain or shine, but focus on indoor activities during inclement weather. Please pack a peanut/tree nut-free lunch and snacks that do not require refrigeration.

Become a Member
Members of the Center are entitled to reduced camp prices and early summer camp registration. Membership must be active through the date for which you are registering to be eligible for the discount. Click here to learn more about all the great member benefits, and join or renew your membership.
Cancellation Policy
Cancellations that are made prior to two weeks before your child’s first day of camp begins will receive a 50% refund. No refunds will be given after that time.
Camp Scholarship Fund
The Center has created a Camp Scholarship Fund to offer financial assistance to those otherwise unable to attend. We encourage your support of this fund; please donate now.
