#OceanRunnerNH: Green Boxes for Greenheads

What are those green boxes in the marsh for? SSC’s Ocean Runner Nichole gets the scoop from Nikki Annelli, a naturalist at the Center. Turns out they are traps for the pesky Greenhead Horsefly, Tabanus nigrovittatus, the species of biting horsefly which span the seaside, from Texas to Florida and all the way up the Eastern Coastline into Nova Scotia. With Greenhead season approaching, Odiorne Point State Park prepares to lessen their bite.
