25th Anniversary FREE Family Fun Day

We’re celebrating of 25 years of providing exceptional marine and environmental education in Odiorne Point State Park with a FREE Family Fun day for the whole community!

Celebrate with us!

Join us for a special day full of fun, learning, and recognition as we celebrate our 25th Anniversary with a FREE Family Fun day for all.

 

Ongoing Activities   9am-2:30pm

Activity stations are located on the front and back lawns of the Center. Inside the Center, you can enjoy story time for the kids, creature features, and our live animal and interactive exhibits.

Activity Stations and Crafts Get into some hands-on learning fun with the Seacoast Science Center, UNH Marine Docents, NH Community Seafood, Macaroni Kid Seacoast, and Seacoast Birth & Family Connection partners.

Park Walks Learn about the rich military and social history of Odiorne Point State Park form our volunteer tour guides.

Touch-a-Truck Get a close-up look at the Seacoast Science Center Marine Mammal Rescue Truck, Town of Rye Highway & Safety Vehicles, and more!

Story Time  Enjoy the story of Oscar the Herring Gull with author Nancy Donovan, The Lorax, and more. Visit our Discovery Den to learn the complete story time schedule.

FREE Popcorn and Cotton Candy! As a special thank you for your support through the years, we’re offering special treats, free of charge!

Join Belmont the Harbor Seal, Larry the Lobster, and others for a dance party.

Octonauts Show and Meet & Greet
Kids, become an Octo-cadet and join Captain Barnacles and Kwazii in an interactive performance. Bring your camera and get your picture taken with your favorite aquatic heros!

10:00 am
UNH Marine Docent Sea Shanty Singers

Sing along to the work songs that were commonly sung to accompany labor aboard large merchant sailing vessels long ago.

Octonauts Show and Meet & Greet
Kids, become an Octo-cadet and join Captain Barnacles and Kwazii in an interactive performance. Bring your camera and get your picture taken with your favorite aquatic heros!

Get in the groove with the band Granite Planet and dance away to their upbeat rock and pop, ranging from the 60s to today.

 

Proclamation and Reception   3pm

Join SSC President Jim Chase as he welcomes friends and supporters, Governor Chris Sununu as he proclaims this day as Seacoast Science Center Ocean Education Day, and Jack Sanders, who honors the Center’s founding President, Wendy Lull, as he unveils a “school of fish” sculpture designed in her honor.
