The Seacoast Science Center's Music-by-the-Sea concert series, held Thursday evenings beginning July 10, is a favorite summertime tradition on the seacoast. The series brings great music to a fabulous seaside setting to benefit the Center's ocean education efforts.

World's Ocean Day Celebration: June 8

The Seacoast Science Center will be observing World's Ocean Day on June 8 with a celebration full of exciting programs for the whole family to enjoy. In addition, three new exhibits will also be on display for young visitors to explore.

Seacoast Science Center President Wendy Lull accepts a $10,000 check in sponsorship for its upcoming Music-by-the-Sea concert series from Peter and Michael Labrie, owners of the Riverhouse Resturant in Portsmouth and soon-to-be-built Atlantic Grill in Rye.
Kennebunk Savings' Rescue Run a Great Success!

Caption: Volunteer blue lobster, Abbie Croot, and red lobster, Emily Croot, congratulate Nathan Huppe (#376) of Dover, NH, the overall winner with a time of 17:08 at Seacoast Science Center's Rescue Run: Race for Marine Mammals 5k trial race sponsored by Kennebunk Savings, held April 26. Overall top female, Leslie Dillon of Kittery, ME finished with a time of 19:06. Rebecca O'Brien (#66) and Chris Ritchie (#347) were second finishers. The race brought runners on a scenic route of varied terrain through Odiorne Point State Park. All proceeds from the event support the Center's marine mammal rescue and ocean education efforts. Whale of a 5k Race Results

Chris Ritchie of Hampton, NH, crossed the finish line with a time of 17:28 at the Seacoast Science Center's Whale of a 5k Trail Race, held April 20. The race brought runners on a scenic route of varied terrain through Odiorne Point State Park. All proceeds from the event support the Center's environmental education efforts.
SSC and Partners Awarded Nearly $500 NOAA Grant

Members from five science centers throughout New England gathered at the Seacoast Science Center on Monday, December 20, along with local politicians and dignitaries to celebrate the receipt of a nearly half-million dollar grant from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
